FAQ and Contact Information

  • I don't have a Gmail account to apply with. What do I do?
    You need a Gmail to successfully apply for the waitlist. Here is a link with instruction on how to create a Gmail account. Please copy and paste into your browser:
  • Why do you need a Gmail account to apply?
    The application form was built on through google forms. It was selected for ease of use. However, it does require a gmail account to apply (see below for more info). Note that you can use another e-mail address as your preferred e-mail to be contacted at.
  • How do I update my contact information?
    Login using your Gmail account and navigate to the form copy and pasting this link into your browser: This will allow you to go back into the form and edit your answers so that we have the most up to date information. For step by step instructions, you can read this document by copy and pasting this link into your browser: Because new units will become available in the future, we want to make sure we are able to reach out to you. To that end, all applicants are responsible for keeping contact information up to date so that we can reach you.
  • How do I know if I am income eligible for units?
    Elligibility is based on your household size (number of people) and income. Income includes all household members over the age of 18. The maximum income to be elligible is based on the Area Median Income (AMI). Units will specify what proportion of the AMI is accepted (60%). Check available units for each property (Beekman and City Club pages) for income requirements.
  • If I am selected on the waitlist and income qualified, am I guarenteed a unit?"
    If you are selected and income qualified for a unit, you will be matched with a unit at a property. However, you will still need to apply through property management and meet the application requirements, including a $65 application fee at Beekman on Broadway) or $25 + $75 refundable application deposit at City Club Apts.
  • How do I know what my position is on the waitlist?
    After you complete the application, you will be sent an email to your primary account with your position on the waitlist. Please save this email for your records.
  • I need help with filling out the form - who can I contact?
    You can contact a representative from the Office of Community and Economic Development (OCED) by reaching out to OCED's Community Development Specialist, Karen Newman at or calling (734) 544-3009. They will work to assist you in completing and or editing the form to the best of their abilities. Our office hours are 8:30am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Staff will try to respond within 24 hours during the week.
  • Can more than one person from my household sign up for the waitlist?
    No. Currently - per the draft household policy - only one person is allowed to register per household.
  • Can I sign up for more than one type of unit?
    Yes. Please check as many unit sizes as you like that fit your household needs.
  • How long should I expect to hear back about each available unit?
    You will receive an e-mail on your place on the waitlist after you apply. We will work to process applications and contact selected individuals within a month of the units coming online. You can expect to hear back in 6-12 months on the waitlist, depending on the number of available units when you appy.
  • Are there other fees or costs related to these units?
    This will vary for different units, so please refer to the property specific pages to learn more. Potential fees and costs include application fees, security deposit, moving fees, utilities, parking, pets, and more. Please refer back to the available units page for more information on additional fees for each property.
